Nobles Opens 15th Branch

Due to increasing demand from customers, A. Noble & Son Ltd. (Nobles) has officially opened its 15th branch in Derrimut, in Melbourne's ever expanding Western Suburbs. The premises are located at 44 East Derrimut Crescent.

The Derrimut branch already has a fully stocked showroom and is fully equipped with a wire rope press and tensile testing machine. The addition of the Derrimut branch enables Nobles to better service the needs of its existing customers in the western areas of Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Nobles have an extensive range of wire rope, lifting and rigging equipment and associated inspection, testing and repair services.

Nobles Announce Distribution of RUD VIP Australia Wide

A Noble & Son Ltd. (Nobles) is pleased to announce that we have been appointed as the key Australian distributor for RUD VIP Grade 100 lifting chain systems and lifting and lashing points. This excellent world-class product range is manufactured by RUD Chains of Germany and has long been recognised as the market leader in the Australian market.

The RUD VIP range has a far superior strength to weight ratio compared with standard Grade T-80 chain slings with a lifting capacity approximately 25% higher on a size for size basis. The range is available in sizes 4 - 22 mm with chain sling lifting capacities to 34.6 tonne. RUD VIP is easily recognised by its very distinctive pink colour.

RUD VIP will be available from all Nobles branches.

The IP clamp has long been established as one of the leading plate clamp brands in the world, and now benefits from the global expertise and assurance of quality from The Crosby Group.

The universal clamp is an excellent, versatile clamp which allows for lifting in any direction, reducing the need for downtime to change clamps for differing lifts. The horizontal clamp is a quality, purpose built clamp which is ideally suited for transfer of non-sagging materials.

Nobles assists with another challenging lift

In April, Nobles assisted in lifting a 25 tonne thruster into position on a floating storage and offloading vessel (FSO) off the Northern Territory coast.

Nobles supplied 60 tonne Ultralift round slings with 55 tonne shackles for the thruster lift, while a series of 3 tonne flat webbing slings, master links, rigging screws, lever hoists and chain blocks were supplied to secure the lifting frame to the thruster.

The experienced Nobles Darwin team worked closely with the client to determine the safest and most efficient method and equipment for this seamless lift.
